In Hawaiʻi, the moon has long held meaning beyond beauty alone: it marks cycles, guides tides, and reminds us to move with nature rather than against it. For us, Mahina carries that same quiet power. Moonlight doesn't demand attention, but it changes everything it touches.
It asks us to pause, to take a breath, and to notice what may have been there all along — only now seen in a different light.

House of Mahina is our next chapter, but it is not a departure from what came before. For many years, we created under the name Makana, a word meaning "gift." That spirit remains with us. Fragrance has always been our way of offering something personal — something crafted, intimate, and meant to be lived with.
But over time, the work evolved. And so did we.
House of Mahina was created to embody that evolution: a more refined expression of fragrance, home, ritual, and place. It is rooted in the warmth of Hawaiʻi, shaped by the ease of coastal California, and grounded in the belief that beauty does not need to announce itself loudly to be felt deeply.
